Meales Heads up Concrete Pumping Safety awareness seminars 4/8/2009

As the QLD Workplace Health and Safety Blitz on Concrete pumping comes in to Force, Meales has taken a proactive stance to assist and help workplace health and Safety Inspectors and Principal Contractors gain a greater knowledge and understanding of Concrete pumps and the associated High risk activities. Meales is extending the invitation to all Principal contractors to become involved to help improve the industry.

The Course days covered such topics as Air Clean out Procedures, Hopper grates and Mechanisims, Shortlegging and Pipe Thickness testing

MEALES OPENS OPERATIONS IN DARWIN - N.T, AND MORANBAH –CENTRAL QUEENSLAND 16/05/2009

We are please to announce that Meales is now able to offer the same great service and equipment you’ve come to expect with the opening of our two new locations being Darwin in the Northern Territory, and Moranbah the mining town of Central/North Queensland.

Darwin is being run by Grantley Schloss. Having previously worked with Meales in Queensland, Grantley moved back to his home town of Darwin having purchased an existing locally based business “Specialized Concrete Pumping”. Meales is supporting Specialized with equipment, thereby allowing Specialized to readily respond to local customer needs. Grantley can be contacted on 0424 547 237. (click to expand images)

The mining town of Moranbah is situated 2 ½ hours west of Mackay. Meales has previously serviced this area from our Mackay depot, however we have now taken the opportunity to base a machine in this area full time. Latest News – Mackay Depot Completed. 14/5/2009

Our new Mackay depot has now reached completion offering us first class service facilities and fully council approved wash out and wash down facilities. This is sure to prove its worth during the renowned North Queensland wet season, and to also assist us in offering the professional service people have become to expect from us in Central and North Queensland. New projects awarded.

Meales has once again been show the trust and respect with some of Australia’s largest builders awarding us their concrete pumping contracts. They are:

Leightons HQ 11/03/2009
Leighton Holdings has awarded Meales the Brook St tower on it’s new $174 million head quarters building located in Fortitude Valley    
Recently we installed a 32m DVM Schwing Placing boom. Completion will be in approximately 6 months time. (click to expand images)


Lend Lease Supreme and Districts Court 11/3/2009
Roma St, Brisbane
Project Value in excess of $500 million
Meales Concrete Pumping is the preferred pumping contractor with commencement on site in Mid April
There is approximately 40,000m3 to be pumped
We will start the project with  a Schwing DVMK50 to get all ground works up to street level completed
The Schwing DVMK 50 Placing Boom forms the flagship of Meales High Rise Concrete Pumping
These booms are the largest Placing Booms in the World
Then 3 x Schwing  KVM32/28 metre placing booms mounted on 3 separate jump systems to pour all typical levels
It will be pumped by 2 Electric pumps with a motor capacity of 160kw
We have initiated a innovative water washout system that means that the majority of concrete at the end of the pour will be used in the structure.

Hale St Bridge moving ahead. 11/03/2009

The next phase of the Hale Street bridge is under way
In approximately 4 weeks time 2 Placing Booms (31m & 28m) will be mounted on a singular barge to pour large quantities of concrete to remote piles and caps in the middle of the Brisbane River. These placing booms will be serviced by high pressure trailer pumps via extensive ground lines fixed to floating pontoons.
We believe that this is the first time 2 placing booms will be floated on a barge in Australia. (click to expand images)

Bechtel Constructions, Yarwun Alumina Refinery StageTwo
Gladstone, Queensland.

With are large concrete silo to be constructed we have been awarded the contract for concrete placement. This will require a 32/28m placing boom free standing to the height of 40m on cranes towers which will enable the easy placement of concrete to the jump form wall system.  (Also refer to projects/ mobile for this project) (click to expand images)


Mackay Branch New Purpose built Depot 10/02/2009

Mackay is well known as one of the busiest towns on the east coast of QLD for many years now.
Since starting the Mackay operation in Jan 2007 this area has offered significant growth in every area of the construction industry.
With Mackay being the central base for servicing the mining industry of the Bowen Basin our fleet and people are fully trained to cater for any type of Mining application required.
We are currently under construction of a purpose built facility.
We are in the biginning stages of construction and are planning to have construction completed sometime late March.
This facility will be the home to 6 Pumps with a Custom Water washout and maintenance areas and refuelling bowser. (click to expand images)

Purchase of New Putzmeister December 2008

December 2008 has seen Meales latest edition to the fleet. A Stationary High Rise Pump from Putzmeister BSA2110.
It has 443HP Duetz diesel Turbo and is ideal for difficult jobs reaching up to 243 metres (approx 100 floors). It also features maximum output of 110 m³/hr and a maximum pressure of 3190 psi.

Making this one of our most Powerful pumps in our fleet.
